When I visited Portugal for the first time in January 2008, I was overwhelmed by this fantastic, cloudless, blue sky and bright sun. From that moment on I was fascinated by this country with its friendly people, the interesting cuisine and the wonderful landscapes.
But my move to Portugal, involved a lot of new challenges. Everything works differently!
How could I combine the German Business World with this country’s great potential?
The support of my Portuguese husband and his family helped me to get a better understanding of the mentality and culture and to steadily better my language skills. In 2009 I graduated my Master’s degree in „Translation in the Media“ at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa.
The possibilities and opportunities for business matters and media productions were becoming ever more apparent. Motivated and full of ideas, I founded my own company named „Made in Portugal“. In cooperation with the concept and design company Bombazine, I took over the planning and organization of the international event of the UNESCO „Planet Earth Lisbon 2009“. In 2010, Sony Pictures Germany assigned me for the media service for an episode of „Deutschlands Meisterkoch“ in Lisbon.
Shortly after, we moved to the capital of Spain, Madrid. New challenge, new language, new ideas. Having lived in Spain and working on smaller projects, have given me a good insight into the culture and mentality. It helped me to better my language skills and to extend my network.
In 2012 we relocated back to Germany, however I could not forget my close connection to Portugal. My idea to show companies the true business and media potential of Portugal, resulted in the founding of PortuKal. With all this background knowledge, my passion for the country and the culture as well as a good network, I would like to stand by your side and lead your project in Portugal to success.
